About Our Founders

Linda, Erica, and Eric Cookston

Before Provision Works was officially established, our founders spent eight years working tirelessly to distribute food during the holiday season. What began as a family with a heart for service and a clear vision has grown into something much greater. Thanks to the groundwork laid by these three individuals, Provision Works stands strong today. In October 2023, they took the official step to incorporate the organization, expanding our reach and deepening our impact.

For many years before we officially incorporated as Provision Works, our family's efforts were focused solely on providing annual Christmas meals in connection with Erica Cookston music. We were not yet offering year-round emergency assistance or ongoing holiday support, but we felt a strong pull to do more. We knew we wanted to step beyond what we had always done, even though we were unsure how.

Through prayer, the direction became clear in 2023. It was time to make this official. It was time to make this bigger. Almost immediately, doubts crept in. What would we call it? How could we expand with such limited resources? Would we truly be able to help many people?

Then came what I like to think of as divine intervention. I was reminded of Matthew 14:16–20, where Jesus fed the multitude with five loaves and two fish. Provision was made in a moment when it seemed impossible. What was small became more than enough.

Inspired by that reminder of God’s faithfulness, Provision Works was born in the quiet early-morning hours while rocking a baby back to sleep. It was a powerful reminder that when the Lord is in control, He can turn little into much and meet us exactly where we are, often in the most unexpected moments and places.

We are deeply blessed to do His work and witness His provision in action.
